Labor day weekend 2009

We snuck away to go camping overnight for Labor Day. We found a fabulous little spot, near Globe, AZ that was perfect for Mara to play! We only took the bare minimum, okay, plus a little. We didn't take our tent, and slept instead in the back of our 4X4 Blazer. We didn't take our stove, and were able to build a fire and cook over it. We enjoyed gathering wood, building a rain shelter out of trees, string and a tarp. We played catch with a soft ball and our mitts while Mara was sleeping. Mara was following me around the camp and exploring and started saying "Aw! Aw!", and I didn't get what she was doing until I realized she was copying the crows that were Cawing nearby. What a bright little girl we have! It was so delightful! We really had a grand time! We can't wait for our next adventure heading to New Mexico for the Hot air Balloon festival they have.

Mark's magnificent rain shelter.
