Labor Day Weekend

San Diego across the bay
Niegel and friend... where's Nemo?

Aunt Natalie took us for a fun walk to the ocean from their apartment, and Mara talked, cooed, and sang as Natalie pushed her along, and finally was soothed to sleep. She missed the whale/dolphin/wild life thingy we saw in the ocean, but since we are not totally sure what it was, it was just as well she slept through it. It was amazing to see the different styles of houses and the great pride that they all take in their yards.

Later on Saturday we went to the ocean. Mark and I both quickly became addicts to the thrill of riding the waves of the ocean with boogie boards. We didn't even mind too much getting salt water up our noses or sand in our suits. It was so much fun!!
Mara slept in her little tent to the soothing sound of the waves crashing in, the birds around, and people laughing nearby.
Mara lovin' the toes.
Asleep, again.

Scott and Natalie showed us such a good time. They were so great to entertain us! Especially Mara, she loved the attention she got from them.

Sharing brain waves.

Covered in sand from head to toe! All of us in Scott and Natalie's fabulous apartment! Natalie has it decorated so cute, you really ought to see it! Our amazing hosts. Oh, what a grand time we had!!

Again, I'm so glad to know that you were actually near the ocean when you saw the "whale" and not in Arizona...I was a little worried for half a second.
